1.1 Location

Debre Tabor town is located in Amhara National Regional State, south Gonder zone, Debre Tabor Woreda, at a distance of 677 Km from Addis Ababa, and 104 Km from Bahirdar the regional capital. Its astronomical location is 11º 51’ North Latitude and 38º 05’ East Longitude.

1.2 Founadtion

Debre Tabor town was founded in 1334.Debre Tabor is one of the reform towns in the region and has a city administration, municipality and 8 kebelles. The town has an Integrated Development Plan, which was prepared in 2009.
