4.1 Urban Economy and Status of the Town

Dodola town is administration and trade center. The town is located at the center of five weredas (Adaba, Gedeb Asasa, Dodola, Kokosa, and Nensebo) which are known to be surplus producers of crops. It serves as exchange center for inputs and different products for these weredas. In addition to these the town is located in a location where the three zones Arsi, South Arsi and Bale Zones meet. This has made the town preferred location for investment.

In Dodola wereda four world known Eco-Tourism sites called Chengeti, Adele, Wahorna Molusoch exist. Due to these a lot of tourists travel to the area. This creates investment opportunities in hotels, super markets and similar developments.
