1.1 Location

Finoteselam town is located in north western Ethiopia, in Amhara National Regional State, west Gojam  zone, Jabatehnane woreda, at a distance of 387 km from Addis Ababa, and 176 Km from Bahirdar the regional capital. Its astronomical location is 10º 41’ North Latitude and 37º 16’ East Longitude.

1.2 Foundation

Finoteselam town was founded in 1940.Finoteselam is one of the reform towns in the region and has a city administration, municipality and 3 urban and 2 rural kebelles. The town has a structure plan which was prepared in 2010.
