1.1 Location

Injibara town is located in northern Ethiopia, in Amhara National Regional State, Awi zone, Babja Woreda, at a Distance 420 Km from Addis Ababa, and 118 Km from Bahirdar the regional capital. Its astronomical location is 10º 53’ North Latitude and 36º 56’ East Longitude.  

1.2 Foundation

Injibara town was founded in 1891.

Injibara is one of the reform towns in the region and has a city administration, municipality and two urban

and one rural kebeles. The town has a structure plan which was prepared in 2010.
