Location

       Kombolcha town is located in northern Ethiopia, in Amhara National Regional State,    South Wello Zone, at a distance 377 Km from Addis Ababa, and 505 Km from Bahirdar    the regional capital. Its astronomical location is 11º 06’ North Latitude and 39º 45’ East      Longitude.

Foundation

           Kombolcha town was founded during the Italian occupation in 1935-1940. 

    Kombolcha is one of the reform towns in the region and has a town administration, municipality and 5 kebeles. The town has a structure plan which was prepared in 2010.
