According to the National Population and Housing Census carried out in 2007, the population of Kombolcha town was 58,667. Out of these 28,406 48%) were males and 30,261(51.58%) were females. Regarding age distribution, 18,128 (31%) were within the age group of 0-15 years, 37,349 (64%) 16-60 years, and 3,190 (5%) 61 years and above. The population growth rate at medium variant was 3.05%, while the average household size in the town was calculated to be 3.9.
