5.1 Infrastructure
Regarding infrastructure, the town has asphalt and gravel roads connecting it to different woreda, zone, region and Addis Ababa. The distribution of roads as per the type of construction materials shows that 8.3km are gravel and 41.3km asphalt roads. In addition to these; the town gets 24 hours electric supply from the national grid, and has mobile and fixed telephone lines, internet services, and a postal service with 475 boxes. The main water supply source of the town is potable underground water and distributed through piped network system. Open ditch drainage network is being constructed in the town.
5.2 Housing
There are 5,699 private and government owned houses in the town. Houses were mainly built of mud, Hollow concrete and stone. Eucalyptus trees, sand and stone are the widely available construction materials in the town.
5.3 Transport
There is daily inter-urban transport service to and from four towns. The town has bus station. 246 Bajaj taxis and 18 horse-drawn carts give intra-urban transport services.
