5.1 Infrastructure
Regarding infrastructure, the town has asphalt and gravel roads connecting it to different weredas in the zone, surrounding zones, towns in the region and Addis Ababa. The distribution of roads as per the type of construction materials shows that 256.6 km are gravel, 46.26 km asphalt, 30km cobble stone, 427.86km compacted earth roads and 41.14 km untreated roads. In addition to these, the town gets 24 hours electric supply from the national grid, and has mobile and fixed telephone lines, internet services, and a postal service having 2700 boxes. The main water supply source of the town is spring water from Infiranz River and there are distribution network and 35 public taps. The town has open ditch pipes to discharge storm water.
5.2 Transport
There is daily inter-urban transport service to and from Addis Ababa and other major nine towns in the region. The town has a bus station as well as airport. There are also 1,182 Bajaj and 200 minibus taxis for giving intra-urban transport service.
