Infrastructure
Motta has six inlet/outlet roads connecting it to surrounding towns, rural areas and Addis Ababa. The distribution of roads by the type of construction materials shows that 10km are gravel and 22km are compacted earth and 1.7km are cobblestone roads. In addition to these; the town gets 24 hours electric supply from the national grid, and has mobile and fixed telephone lines, internet services, and a postal service with 220 boxes. The main water supply source of the town is potable underground water and is distributed through piped network system and eight public taps. There are open ditch drainage lines to discharge storm water.

 Housing
There are private and government owned houses in the town. Houses were mainly built of mud and wood wall construction materials. Wood, stone, and Hollow Concrete Blocks are the widely available construction materials in the town.

 Transport
The town has bus station and there is daily inter-urban transport service to and from surrounding towns.. 86 horse-drawn carts give intra-urban transport services.
